About the event
Water, which makes up a large part of our bodies and all life on Earth, carries traces of the past with it as it flows.
For millions of years, water has circulated among bodies and beings, rocks and soil, rivers and clouds. The waters beneath the earth, on its surface, and in the sky constantly meet and transform.
So, if we listen to these waters, what do we hear?
This listening project, which began in Vienna, now continues in Sinop. The waters of the Danube River, brought from Vienna, will meet the rhythms and memories of the Black Sea.
Just as invisible webs weave bodies, beings, and lands together, sounds and stories will also forge new connections among these waters.
The project is being realized with the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media, and Sports—Department of Fine Arts, Design, Photography, and Media Arts; the Austrian Cultural Office in Istanbul; and the Saha Association; in collaboration with Brunnenpassage and the Vienna Climate Biennale.
